St. Peter's Peacocks Basketball

St. Peter's University's men's basketball team, known as the Peacocks, represents the university in NCAA Division I competition. They compete in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).

  • History: While the program has a long history, they are most notably recognized for their Cinderella run in the 2022 NCAA Tournament.

  • 2022 NCAA Tournament Run: As a 15-seed, St. Peter's achieved a historic upset, defeating Kentucky (2-seed), Murray State (7-seed), and Purdue (3-seed) to become the first MAAC team to reach the Elite Eight since 2006 and the first 15-seed to ever reach the Elite Eight since 1999.
